RVHS Attendance Message

Posted Date: 12/10/25 (03:54 PM)

Dear Parents and Guardians,
At RVHS, we remain committed to improving student attendance, reducing late arrivals, and addressing tardiness throughout the school year. Our period tardy check-in system is designed to encourage punctuality and minimize classroom disruptions. Staff will issue tardy passes to students who arrive late to class (defined as 1–15 minutes after the bell). This policy applies to all five class periods, every school day.

With the rise in tardies at the start of the new trimester, we will be implementing additional measures to promote on-time attendance and support an optimal learning environment.

In addition to our ongoing attendance policies already in place, beginning tomorrow, Thursday, December 11, detentions may be issued randomly throughout the upcoming weeks for unexcused tardies during the school day (class periods 1–5).

We ask for your support in helping students arrive on time — whether that means dropping them off a few minutes early or reminding them to leave with enough time to safely arrive for their classes if they drive or walk. Your partnership makes a big difference and is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your help in promoting student success at RVHS.
