O’Neil Biography

Education:
South Medford High
Oregon State University, Bachelors of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering
Oregon State University, Masters of Science in Advanced Mathematics

Learning Philosophy:
No amount of memorization and book-learning can prepare a person for the problem-solving challenges of the “real world” like hands-on experiences.  My method of teaching is a clear reflection of how I learn best.  Real world, hands-on experiences, projects and activities always teach me more than I expect, and leave me with a feeling of accomplishment and confidence in my own learning abilities.  I incorporate these types of experiences into all of my classes, with special emphasis in the Project Lead the Way engineering classes I offer here at RHS.

After-hours:
I love wilderness travel, and capturing images that reflect the extraordinary beauty of the places I visit.  Traveling with my wonderful family, playing and teaching guitar, and hooking up on a crazy mountain biking trail round out my days off.
